INDIANAPOLIS (March 7, 2005) — Klipsch is introducing two square in-ceiling speakers that complement many square-shaped ceiling fixtures. Offering the same technology and sound performance as their round counterparts, the contemporary-designed R-5650-C2 and R-2650-C2 give installers another set of high-performance flush-mount options.

The R-5650-C2 features a 6.5-inch Cerametallic™ woofer cone, 1-inch titanium tweeter mated to a swiveling 100-degree asymmetrical Tractrix® Horn, as well as treble and bass contour switches. Because the swiveling horn allows installers to point the sound where they want it to go, the direct to reflected energy is high in the listening area, creating a large soundstage with well-defined imaging.

The R-2650-C2 employs a 6.5-inch gray polymer woofer cone and a 1-inch soft/silk dome tweeter to deliver superior depth and clarity.

Available in a white finish, these models are paintable and can be paired with the Klipsch
IK-650-C2 installation kit (sold separately). This kit design incorporates a mud ring, breakaway tie and color-coded brackets for easy speaker size identification. It also includes perforated metal wings that easily fasten to studs via screws, staples or nails. Painted white for easy marking and placement, these metal wings can be folded around the edge of the studs if necessary.

The R-5650-C2 and R-2650-C2 are priced per pair at U.S. MSRPs of $599 and $399 respectively.
