Cooking with Klipsch

What is it about music and cooking that are synonymous? Does it lift our spirits and inspire creativity? Or does it peel back layers of the proverbial onion to reveal one of the truest forms of self-expression? Is it soulful, flavorful, and highly complex or organic, simple and refined?

No matter your tastes, music and recipes open doors for infinite combinations that unite people at one common table.

In this new series, #cookingwithKlipsch, we invite you to share your stories, music, and recipes from the heart.

Right, so let’s get started…

My taste in music is all over the place, but I enjoy upbeat, jammy, instrumental stuff the most. Here are a few criteria I use to help create a playlist:

  • 1) Must be easy to cook-to
  • 2) Kid-friendly (ish)
  • 3) Motivating enough for all those emergency cleaning sessions…because - let’s be honest - you’ll never clean the house faster than when company is about to show up.
  • 4) Performs well by the campfire!

For me, this playlist checks most of the boxes.

Now that we’ve got the playlist covered, what’s for dinner? Let’s go with some finger-licking BBQ ribs perfect for the summertime!

Britt’s BBQ Ribs

Ingredients

3 lbs. pork ribs

3 celery stalks

1 Tbsp soy sauce

1 Tbsp Worcester

½ Tbsp oregano

½ Tbsp parsley

3 cloves crushed garlic

1 medium-sized yellow onion

1 tsp red pepper flakes

½ of a small jalapeño diced

1 green pepper

1 red pepper

2 medium-sized tomatoes

1½C ketchup

½C brown sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Simmer until sauce thickens, 15-20 minutes

Meanwhile, boil ribs for 30 minutes on medium heat.

Bake in oven-safe dish at 350°F for 1 hour. Cover both sides in sauce. Flip ribs every 15 minutes, brushing with more marinade.

*Pairs well with homemade mashed potatoes…and Budweiser (but, you do you).

We can’t wait to check out more recipes and playlists from our followers using the hashtag #cookingwithklipsch.

Because, over the (main) course of the next 10 weeks, we’ve selected some of our Top Fans from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to compete in a Klipsch Cook-Off.

At the end of the ten weeks, we’ll ask fans to vote on their favorite recipe/playlist. The winner will receive The One tabletop stereo.

Stay tuned for next week’s episode and Bon Appetit!
