INDIANAPOLIS (July 28, 2011) — Klipsch, a leading global speaker manufacturer, is announcing today the company’s success in fundraising efforts benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since fundraising began in May, Klipsch has collected over $23,000 for the organization.

The proceeds will assist two Indianapolis-area Make-A-Wish children who are currently battling life-threatening medical conditions. The majority of funds have been raised in connection with two fundraising events, including Make-A-Wish’s own 6th Annual Walk for Wishes® and Bloomington Bicycle Club’s RAIN Ride. Both events took place on July 16. Consisting of 40 walkers and 12 riders, the Klipsch team was able to exceed individual fundraising goals of $4,000 set prior to each event. In addition, the company matched the first $6,000 raised by employees.

“Since our inception in 1946, giving back has remained an important component of our corporate mission,” said Paul Jacobs, CEO of Klipsch. “The generosity and dedication exhibited by our employees is nothing short of admirable and solidifies the pride I’ve always had in this organization. While participating in the RAIN ride, I couldn’t have been happier to be alongside my colleagues while pedaling to help make these special children’s dreams come true.”

With the funds that have been raised, Klipsch will work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to send an 11-year-old girl to Discovery Cove in Orlando, Fla., to swim with the dolphins. For a young boy, Klipsch has been hard at work designing the ultimate entertainment room to ensure all is up and running upon his return home from treatment. Klipsch continues to utilize its own employees and resources to exceed the wish by granting additional entertainment – surround sound, flat-panel television and video games, to name a few.

“Although we have propelled beyond our fundraising goals, we intend to grant more wishes,” said Rich Doppelfeld, Vice President of Global Human Resources. “Everyone involved has done an outstanding job encouraging donation efforts and heightening the spirits surrounding our cause. The Klipsch team is continuing to incorporate company-wide fundraising events so we can in turn continue to brighten these children’s days. Next on the agenda is an executive car wash, where our own CEO, CFO and senior management team will be put to work washing fellow colleagues’ vehicles.”
